About Laura Horwitz

Laura Horwitz has a BA (Honors) in Literature and Creative Writing
from U.C. Santa Barbara and a Master's Degree from the National
Film and Television School in London.

She began her career as a production assistant on
Malcolm in the
Middle
and 24: Season One before accepting a Fulbright Fellowship
to spend a year teaching English in France.

In the international film world, she worked as an intern for Miramax
at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival, then moved on to spend the
2002-2005 festivals working for Morgan Creek International (
Robin
Hood: Prince of Thieves, Last of the Mohicans, True Romance
).

After finishing her graduate degree, she remained in London for
another two years doing a variety of freelance writing, editing, and
photography assignments. These included a monthly gardening
article for the lifestyle magazine
RH Review, proofreading for
Granada Media, and above all working on the editorial board for the
online entertainment magazine
6 Degrees Film. This included writing
weekly reviews, feature articles, interviews, and coverage of film
premieres, along with photography and editing work.

Upon returning to California, Laura continued her freelance career
for both online magazines and an international marketing company.
She also works as a screenwriter and independent documentary
filmmaker.
